French President Emmanuel Macron summarized it well when he said:
„If we want technological sovereignty, we’ll have to adapt our competition law, which has perhaps been too much focused solely on the consumer and not enough on defending European champions.“
Besser kann man wohl nicht zusammenfassen, dass mit dem DMA der EU nicht der Wettbewerb geschützt wird, sondern die europäischen Wettbewerber geschützt werden. So werden diese wohl auch inskünftig in den globalen digitalen Märkten auf Nebenrollen beschränkt sein.
